The Five Principles of
SHED SCIENCE
One |
Never throw anything out. |
| You never know when you might need it. |
Two |
I know where everything is. |
| I know by instinct – it only appears to be a mess. |
Three |
Yes, I need seven of those. |
| You can never have too many tools. |
Four |
Leave that alone. |
| Can’t you see that’s a serious scientific experiment? |
Five |
It works better that way. |
| Stop asking stupid questions. |
The above comes from the back page of the "Blokes and Sheds" calendar I bought back in '97. It relates to a fascinating little book by the same name that I bought as a Christmas gift for my Dad. The book is all about the various uses that backyard sheds (a garage can qualify as a defacto Shed) are put to by (usually retired) blokes. Things such as (from memory); making and repairing Cellos & Double Bass's, Plaiting Stock whips, Pottering, Tinkering etc etc etc, or even just a space of his own. For Your Inflammation; The Author is Mark Thomson, Published by Angus & Robertson/Harper Collins, ISBN 0 207 18916 1. Hmm, should track down a copy for myself one of these days....
